Pendhapa gathers artisans from around the world in an apartment

The Appartements trail is the truest of the Design Week: it shows furniture where it will end up, that is, in someone's home.

The idea

Pendhapa stages an immersive exhibition around its world, with artisans from across the globe. The new collections are presented by material and technique, alongside contemporary artists — a hang that mixes the everyday object and the artwork rather than separating them.

In Javanese, the word pendhapa refers to the open pavilion of a house, the reception space without walls. The name states the programme.
